Welcome to Northwestern British Columbia!Our two bedroom cottage is located right at the shore of beautiful Lakelse Lake, in the middle of Mountains, Lakes, Rivers and Forests, a prime recreation spot for Families, Fishers and Outdoor Enthusiasts. This two-bedroom cottage is suitable for up to a max. of 4 people. The Master bedroom has 2 single beds and a walk-in closet. ![]() The second bedroom has a Queen bed. ![]() Towels and bedding are provided. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed to be self sufficient, including a microwave, toaster, coffe maker, fridge with large freezer compartment, and an electric range. The living room is equipped with Radio, CD Player, and Televison for CD and Video viewing. (Their are movie rentals available in town) ![]() The woodstove will make everyone warm and cozy during those cooler evenings. (in addition to the central heating) The house has one full bath and one 1/2 bath. There is a washer and dryer available. The covered veranda overlooks the lake. ![]() The pebble and sand beach has a firepit for outdoor grilling. Location of our CottageThe cottage is located ca. 25 km south of Terrace, off HWY 37, the road to Kitimat. Map of the area (Google) The property is reached on a small paved road, ca. 1km off the Hwy. The area is quiet, the property covered with lush northern rainforest growth, interspersed with a small salmon bearing creek. Lakelse Hotsprings resort with hotpools, restaurant, and bar is only a three minute drive away. Activities in the regionDuring the summer, Fishing: Lake fishing is right at the front door. Famous salmon and steelhead fishing grounds are a short drive away. (Skeena River, Kitimat River and their tributaries). Ocean fishing is available in Kitimat (ca. 1/2hr. drive) and Prince Rupert (ca. 2hr. drive). Swimming: At the Hotsprings Resort, and in the lake. Lakelse Lake is one of the few swimming lakes in the Northwest - it warms up in the summer and has clean and clear water. Boating: Boats can be rented down the road. Hiking: Easy walking trails through a rainforest park are accessible just 300m down the road. These trails are suitable for families and meander through primal rainforest, linking up with a campground and beach area. Longer and more strenuous hiking routes are reachable within short drives. Sightseeing: Interesting destinations can be reached in every direction in leasurely day drives. (Kitimat, Prince Rupert, along the Skeena River - one of the most scenic drives in the world, the Nass Valley with Lava Beds and Native Villages, The Hazletons and Smithers...) During the winter, Cross Country skiing: Along the trails, on the lake, when it is frozen, at Onion Lake (10 minute drive), a developed cross country ski area, with kilometers of trails, hut and floodlight skiing. Downhill skiing at Shames Mountain, ca. 1hr drive. Snowshoeing, sledding, etc. Occasionally the lake is frozen crystal clear and can be skated on.
